Happy Birthday!

bday

Are your ready for Christmas?  How far along is your shopping?  How many of your gifts are wrapped?  Is the tree and decorations all up?  Have your Christmas cards all gone out?  Is your cooking and baking all planned out?  Just how clean is your house for visitors?  Well time is getting short.

There is another question much more important that you should be asking yourself other than, “Are you ready for Christmas”.  That is question is, “Are you ready for Christ”?

Listen to what John the Baptist cried out to his people in Luke 3:4-6.

“Prepare the way for the Lord.  Fill in the valleys and level off all the mountains.  Make the crooked roads straight and the rough places smooth.”

John the Baptist didn’t want his people to work on the roads.  He wanted them to get ready for the coming Messiah.  He really meant that he wanted the people to get their hearts right.  No matter how good people think they are, there are crooked ways and rough places in their lives.  Such things as dishonesty, selfishness, pride, jealousy, and much more.  John wanted his people to make their crooked ways straight so that Jesus could walk among them.

During this Christmas season, make sure that you are ready for the coming of the Christ of Christmas.  We need to look into our own heart and see if there are any crooked or rough places.  Ask God to make them straight and smooth so you can walk with Jesus each and every day of your life….AMEN
