2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)

hbThis is one of, if not, my favorite verses in Scripture.  I believe that God inspired his people to put His wishes down for us to have and treasure.  In this

passage I’m reminded just how His Words work in my life.

  • Teach – He shows me the right, the pleasing road to take in my life
  • Rebuke – He will warn me when I start to go off His course
  • Correct – He will prod me back on course
  • Train –  He will develop within me the disciplines that keep me on His righteous path

All this from reading, studying and meditating on His ways and words found in Scripture.  In times in my life when I haven’t heeded the advice in this passage I learned important lessons about life without the blessings of God.  Life is so much better when I strive to please and follow God in all ways and this is a promise from Him that I don’t have to go it alone.
